Unauthorized Access of Credit Reports

Went to ask for price only, have been a loyal Mitsubishi owner for the last 15 years, the sales man ask for my license and social to put in the system but said they cannot pull my credit without my permission. This was just to put in the system to get me the price I wanted never sing anything or give them permission to run my credit, but this sales man pull my credit report anyway behind my back. I only found out because I have identity guard and receive an email from them. Very unprofessional dealership. Doing anything they can to create a sale.

Stay away from them like I have, and there product altogether. I will never get a Mitsubishi again because of this experience and Mitsubishi USA approving of such action and not doing anything about it. From the FCRA § 616. Civil liability for willful noncompliance [15 U.S.C. § 1681n] " (b) Civil liability for knowing noncompliance. Any person who obtains a consumer report from a consumer reporting agency under false pretenses or knowingly without a permissible purpose shall be liable to the consumer reporting agency for actual damages sustained by the consumer reporting agency or $1,000, whichever is greater."
