Modesto Mitsubishi
Ripoff artist strikes again!

I purchased a car from Modesto Mitsubishi in October.
I went to the dealer I looked at only two vehicles. There was a used 1999 VW jetta with 50,000 miles for fifteen nine, and a 2003 toyota corolla with 14,000 miles for fourteen nine. I chose the Toyota Corolla. It was a better deal in my eyes. The price was the reason I chose the car.

Once we were inside, the sales manager was very pushy. He wanted a down of $2500. I said I would not do that until I had the money. He asked for a post dated check. I said no. He then came back and said he could get the down to $500. I said I could do that. The Paperwork was done and we left.

Our governor changed the car tax after I purchased the car. I looked at my paperwork to see how much of a refund I was going to get, it was then that I noticed the price on the car was sixteen nine, not fourteen nine. The $2,000 that was to be the rest of the down seems to have been added to the car price. My boy-friend and I were both at the car lot and saw the price on the car window. It was the deciding factor in choosing the car. We called and spoke to the sales person, the person that did the paperwork and the manager. The manager took my name, my new telephone number and said they would call us back.

Two weeks later we had not heard from the dealership.
We called and got nothing. We decided to just go down to the dealership. We had looked at their ad for the day and my car was not in there. The manager said that if it is not in their sale ad the car is not on sale. They said every car that they have that has a sale price is in the paper. He said we looked at a a lot of cars and probably saw the price on another car. I only looked at two cars. Then they tried to say they did not have the vw jetta I looked at on the lot.

My boyfriend let them know he had the vin number of the vw and could prove they had the vw on their lot. They then said they probably did have it and what color it was. The price on the paperwork is not the sale price that was on the car in big huge numbers. What Can I do? The price is also above msrp. Does this mean anything? What can be done?
