When you have built yourself as the quality leader, mistakes and defects can bring scorn from the media and the general public.

When Toyota first came to American shores it was known for extremely poor quality. They built their reputation to the extent that people do not even remember when Toyota was not the highest quality auto maker.

Now, Toyota is quickly working to repair its image and it is working hard to fix any problems that may be in certain cars.

Many loyal Toyota customers will stand behind their cars, and already Toyota has recorded huge sales gains for March and well ahead of what could have been expected for a company in such a negative focus in the media.

I think Toyota will recover their former reputation as a high quality manufacturer and high quality company, sooner rather than later.
