Defective Engine

I have a 2006 5.3 Liter V-8 engine that started a noise that originally sounded like a lifter. The noise began to get louder and louder, no mechanic could come up with a clear diagnosis of the problem. I purchased another engine "however" i discovered that other persons with this model vehicle was having the same problem. There must be a problem with this engine that GM Should address.
