Scam! Rude! Fraud!

Cars & Transport

I copied most of this from another post because I could not have said it any better myself, I did change alot of it to match my run in with this worthless scammer.

They're not backed by the Better Business Bureau! The company motto, 'hang up or buy.' They are very deceptive about their warranties. Welcome to the world of the hard sale. The world of not caring about what you are selling.

Here is the script of what the employee is supposed to tell you and how they are supposed to lie.

Warranty division, this is & how may i help you. What is the year and model of your vehicle? May i have the customer id number on the notice we sent you? Do you have the vin number handy on you vehicle? And how many miles do you have on your car? [this is the point where they have gathered all the information they need to sell you and when they finally hear your miles they do somthing called a f.O.A.M., they freak about your miles]. Oh my lord you have 175 thousand miles on a 2000?!? Thats alot of miles! They ask if everything is running ok. Planning on keeping it awhile? What kind of problems have you had? Then the lie really begins. If you still have a car under warranty they put you on hold to see what warranty they want to pitch to you.

If you dont have coverage they will say well you are past our 150k mile cutoff for coverage since you are at 175k They make a cutoff point up. But since your car is running ok they say they will go talk to the program director. The program director is some other guy that works there who wasnt lucky enough to be on his phone so he has to come act like a supervisor. So he will get on the phone and grill you on some different things. Bought new or used any problems? So on and so forth, then he makes up some b.S. Excuse to offer you coverage the only problem he tells you is, the computer system is setup to delete any vehicle past the fake cutoff point so you need to tell them by the end of the call yes or no.

Then the sales rep will get back on, usually a young male 20-30 yrs old. They will go through the coverage. Maybe its bumber to bumber, they say its just like when your car was new. Just like doesnt mean exactly so its not a 'lie' per say. Alot of things are not covered that you would think would be. Then they have full comp coverage, average cost is 3k, no one hardly ever uses it and when they do the claim usually is not paid. Then on vehicles over 100k miles but under 200k they have the powertrain warranties.

Internally lubricated parts on the engine transmission and drive axel. Limits of repair payout is 5k, 3k for engine, 2k for tranny. But ONLY covers items that break for 'no reason', if it breaks due to 'Normal Wear and Tear' then they will not cover it. 99.9% of all breakdowns in 'internally luberatacted parts' are due to 'Normal Wear and Tear'.

Plus you still have to pay for the tear down and wait for the companyto send out a rep to take his time, come by the shop and judge if the item failed due to 'Normal Wear and Tear' if it did you foot the whole bill. From what I have read, this is the case 99.9% of the time.

You have 3 days after cancelling any warranty to get all your money back and have 30 days to cancel with a fee of $75. But you do not get your custom contract to read for 2 weeks... So no matter what, they are going to get you for $75.00.

Trying to cancel a warranty? Be prepared to have to yell cuss and say cancel over and over and over (customer service rep. Alex ext 3138). The most effective way to get cancelled is to tell them you will report them to the better business bureau, the attorney general and will be filing a complaint. That will usually get you over to another customer service rep after the sales rep is done trying to sell you on the idea again. Then customer service will do the same thing. Threaten them again and they will usually cancel.

I even called back to complain about Alex at ext 3138 and talked to his Floor Superviser whom would not tell me her name. She told me they are trained right and they will listen to the recording of the call and correct Alex on what he did wrong. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but at what point was I informed that the call maybe monitered and or recorded? Does that not violated the wire tap law?

You see the reason they want to keep your business so bad is because they have a mark up of at least 1300 dollars on all warranties.

They rip people off by selling warranties they are not worth the paper they are written on!

The owners are multi millionaires. They care about nothing but the almight dollar. They knowingly teach people to lie and decieve others all in the name of profit. You think they really care about the old lady that lives on social security who was called randomly [The company is turning into a telemarketing firm. It calls people at random] and sold the choice warranty on a car she cant even drive. I recommend checking them out on the better business bureau's website. No shortage of complaints.

The whole company is managed by a bunch of jerks who get off on calling people names and degrading them. The average person who works there is fresh out of college and wasnt able to get a job anywhere else so he decided to work there. He sits in a cubical that is covered in rebuttal sheets. They have an answer for any excuse. They are taught to a.I.O.A. To agree with the customer, isolate the objection, overcome the objection, and ask for the money.

Here's and example. Oh yes sir, I understand its a big decision and you need to talk to your wife [agreed and isolated, spouse objection] but, when your vehicle breaks down are you gonna tell them you need to talk to your wife or will you tell them to fix it? [overcame the objection] so all I need to set you up is the 395 down, debit or credit card?

If that doesnt work and they cant get you to buy it after awhile they will set you up to talk to the 'finance manager'. This could be another co worker again or it could be a manager. Someone who knows how to sell people better then the rep does. The 'finance manager' will come on and take 200 off maybe, 195 down and give 18 months financing. Then if that doesnt work he will a.I.O.A. Until they hang up. Hanging up is usually the best thing to do. These guys talk to people 10 hours a day, they do nothing but sell warranties to anyone and everyone. No one wins an argument with them.

Bottom line is, these warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on. The people who sell them don't care who the sell it to. Go to your dealer. They will take care you better then this SCAMER or any others out there ever could.
