I recently bought a vehicle from Phantom Recovery. This is a business that repossess vehicles and inherently turns around and sell them. The vehicle that I bought was a VERY nice looking car and the guy who "knew the most" about this vehicle specifically said it had a real nice engine and it runs good. I did test drive it for about 30 miles and noticed nothing wrong with the vehicle.
After deciding to buy the car, I drove it off the lot and into Sioux Falls and within 2 hours of having this vehicle, it now sits in the shop waiting for me to decide if its worth $2500 more to replace the engine.
I spoke with them briefly after buying the vehicle and telling them what had happened and the response I received was, "You bought the car "as is", Its not our problem."
My advice to anyone looking at a vehicle here is to have it checked by a mechanic prior to buying anything. Even better, stay away from this business because they obviously lack any integrity. Anything for the almighty $
