Be Cautious! Honda Factor built in Anti Theft Security System Ripped Off

I recently purchased a 2010 Honda Civic EX, which came with a Honda Anti Theft Security System. The Sale person assured me that the system came with the new car. However, when I went over to the Financing Department to pay for the car, I was scammed into paying a hefty cost to activate the security system. The finance lady claimed that the system that came with the car will be deactivated by the dealer unless I pay $695 to have it reactivated. Without activating the system, the car basically does not have a security system even though it came with the car. Exited about my new investment, I agreed to pay for the activation. I talked to some friends who recently also purchased Honda cars at different Honda Dealers, no such claim or scam was offered to them. All their anti theft systems were pre activated without any cost.

I am very upset with this specific Honda Dealer. I feel that they took advantage of my naiveness about alarm systems and ripped me off. Buyers Beware!

Let me know if you ever experienced the same scam. Wish there was a law to protect consumer from getting ripoff.
