Lloyd of North America Broke my windshield wiper and didn't even so much as apologize or offer a refund

My wife and I brought our car to Carriage Car Wash on Saturday, November 21, at approximately 9:30 am. We went through the automated wash, and halfway through, their brushes broke our windshield wiper off. We proceeded through the wash, and, upon exiting the other side, I got out to go into the office only to find it unattended and locked up.

I pulled the car around back to speak with the attendant. The attendant was a middle aged hispanic male who did not seem very happy. He made an attempt to put my wiper back together, and said "There you go", and walked away. It was still broken, and he was merely trying to dismiss me altogether. I requested a refund and offered to buy a new wiper and bring back the receipt for reimbursement. He became angry, belligerent, and increasingly dismissive. He refused to call the owner, and would not disclose the owner's contact info. When I called the number on their "incident report", hoping to speak to either the attendant or his supervisor, I was hung up on 3 separate times.

Bottom line: The employee made no attempt to resolve the situation at all, and would not put me in contact with someone who could. Their $3 car wash ended up costing us $20. I can only hope that this incident will cost this man his job. We have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and upon investigating the business, have found their state fictitious name filing to be expired as of 12/08. On Monday, November 23, I will try to contact the owner and reach a resolution myself.
