Had Car for 2 Months Nothing Done

Our vehicle blew an engine back in August. I had called around and found an ad on Craigslist regarding this company. I am a schoolbus driver an my wife is a stay at home mom so money is a major part. Don assured me he would work with us after we put so much down and made payments. I specificaly told him it need a new engine he said 13-1400 and a 4-5 day window for repair. I thought this was great. Wrong. The car was towed on August 25th... It took them 2 1/2 weeks to diagnose that the car neded an engine. I had originally gave him 400 dollars cash. He had called and said that it does need an engine! Surprise! And we were looking between 1900-2500 total. And thathe would needmore money down
So I gave him 500 dollars more he said it would be anout a week to 2 week window to get the engine and put it in. AMAZING HOW IT STARTED WITH 4- DAYS??? The first excuse for he delay was that a mechanic was sick. And tat they wre trying to see if they can rebuild ours. STILL DOES NOT TAKE ALMOST 3 WEEKSThen I was told that people who fnance the repair are put last behind everyone else WAS NEVER TOLD THIS! I agreed what else could I do? I called 2 weeks later an was told the tech was working on it and to call the next day to find out when it would be ready. I came in the next day to see my car sitting in the same spot it was in 3 weeks ago not even touched. I was told by Dusty (owner) that he was sorry tht it was taking this long and that he would personally see to it it was finished within a week. Found out the engine that was ordered was crap. So they had to order a new one. A phne call would ave bee nice. This was around Sept 24th.
Don told me that the new engine would be delivered Friday and it would be a 3-4 day window to install. I said fine no oter options at this point. So I came in a week later to find my car STILL not moved or looked at. I was told that they only ad one tech and oe van ahead of mine. This was October 2nd. I waited about a week and my car had still not been done I told them I would have to get it towed out and I wanted my money back. They said they had that in labor and parts... WHAT LABOR??? So they would give me my car but no money back. THAT WAS FROM DUSTY Don had told m they would have it running ad once my car got in it woud be done this was Friday..
Called Monday the 12th of October. No answer all day... Called Tuesday I was told by Dusty another excuse that the tech did not come in and theyhad noone to work on he vehicles they would have to hire someone. Now I see online that they might have closed shop. With my 900 dollars, my car, and no engine put in. I thought theses guys were honest they claim they hve been in business for 14 years I dont understand how and eveything I was told was nothing but excuses. I plan on contacting a lawyer and the news.
