Problems with Quick Auto Transport

You should know about the deceptive business practices of Quick Auto Transport. Http://www.quickautotransport.com/

6313 Wayles St.
Springfield, VA
22150

They quote $250, charge $300, and upon arrival demand another $150 since they have your car in their control.

Here is the history of my experience.
On September 14, I used Google to search for auto transporters. I selected several and received quotes. The quote from QAT was $250 and said a representative would call.

Jonathan Howell called me on 9/16,2:27 pm. We discussed the detail and at that time he told me the price to move my pick up truck to Georgia was $300, not $250. I agreed to that price.

On Sept 21 we spoke and I told him to proceed. I gave him permission to electronically withdraw $150 from my checking account as partial payment.

My email Sep 21 at 3:52 PM,
John, Please deliver the truck to
Ocilla, GA 31774
I will give the title to your driver Friday the 25th to deliver to the new owner. When the truck arrives, he will pay $150. What is the best way to do that? Cash, personal check, credit card or cashiers check?
How long will it be in transit?
Please confirm receipt of this email.
Thanks, Steve

Everything is on schedual and cash on delivery is best way to pay for delivery

Truck was picked up Saturday 10/3 and delivered on Tuesday 10/6. At the delivery point the driver demanded $300.

John has not returned my calls but did reply to an email.

The quote I gave you was for your transport price. When I sent you the invoice you understood that I told you that your deposit was accepted and processed. Therefore the remaining balance due to the driver will be sent to your email. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

THERE WAS NO MISUNDERSTANDING. John did not send an invoice or get my agreement to another $150, so I replied:

John, I never received an invoice. What I have is our agreement that I would give you $150 and your driver would get $150 upon delivery. That was our deal.

My transport price that we agreed upon was $300. The only other number in our conversations was $250. There was never any mention of any additional.

It is not an acceptable business practice to quote $250, charge $300 and then demand $450.
