I called to place an order for a new tire for my bike. I told the customer service rep that I wanted to do a price match and gave her the information for it. She checked and confirmed that I could get the price match. I say "perfect I will be in tomorrow evening to pick up the tire" conversation concludes.
Next day, I make the hour drive to the store to get the tire. [and speak with the same CSR] she tells me at this point that shes got to get authorization from her supervisor for the price match I want. After a few minutes on hold, she tells me that she cant do a price match because it needs "special" authorization. "ok. Who does that come from?" her response; "the owner". And he's not in right now. So do you still want the tire?"
At this point I am starting to be really annoyed. I ask to speak to a supervisor to resolve the issue, she claims "he's busy and can'y talk with me". I drove the hour to the store, which means Ive got an hour drive back. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with the CSR, only to pay the full price for the tire. I was told I could call them back tomorrow to get my refund. But theres nothing that she can do about it now.
I could have saved my time, monet, and aggrivation buy going to a local shop for them to put the tire on.
Over the years I have spent a good deal of money with Dennis Kirk, and many of my friends have also. From today on, I will recommend they join me in not EVER shopping Dennis Kirk again.
