Ricks tire and wheel 120th and aurora next to the vehicle emmisions testing station.

I took my 85 y/o's mothers 96 Lumina in after it failed the Emissions test; I gave them the Inspection report that stated "p0420: Catalist System Efficiency Below threshold Bank 1" I was told they would do an evaluation and call me in the morning. The next day I get a a call from a Mark he tells me:

#1 I need new tires!
#2 I need new brakes!

{now keep in mind I brought this in for an emission waiver! }

He told me a universal catalytic converter was $305 plus $200 to install
[ I picked one up for $30] but that they could do everything for @$900

Or they could adjust the fuel mixture adjustments and get me the $150 waiver for $230!!!

Yes $230 for a 150 dollar waiver!!!

Have you ever tried to adjust the fuel mixture on a computerized car??? It can't be done!

I was pissed and I hate giving money to CROOKS! But I had to get moms car back when I went in to get my car back the guy behind the counter said its $110 plus $40 2 days storage fee's... Storage fee's! They never did anything but read the emissions inspection report! Which states the catalytic converter is bad. Also when I told him I was going to write him up he laughed" Rippoff Reports! Ha ha!"

I guess my lesson is never go to the place next door to the emissions testing station unless you want to get ripped off!
