FreeBeeGas is a fraud - don't waste your time and money!

Purchased a certain amount of appliances at a store participating in a free gas rebate program in Rhinelander, Wisconsin - supposed to receive "$500 in free gas" and still have not received a redemption card yet - started filing in 10/08.

Program requires you purchase $100 of the same brand of gas per month. Once you send in receipts, they'll send a gas gift card for $25 within 28 - 54 business days depending on whether or not they receive it by the 25th of the month.

Had to pay a $5 "refundable at the end of the redemption" fee to register.

STILL WAITING for our first gas card!!!

Emailed the company on 12/22/08 and received the following response:

We have incurred a complete sequel server database crash; we are aggressively working just as fast as possible to get the newest system functioning properly to better service your account.

These issues were unavoidable and unintentional. We have completed the new database software and are in the process of switching the new and the old. During this time you may experience telecommunication issues with our firm, as well as internet. We are currently creating a list of all cards due, which will be shipped between now and mid- January. I understand this is a frustrating situation. You have all rights to be upset. However, keep sending in your receipts - our top priority is your satisfaction and assurance that you will receive everything owed to you.

Called the 1-800 # to hear a fast busy signal. I guess I should be thankful for an e-mail reply - spelling, grammar and tone of reply do not seem professional (albeit VERY SYMPATHETIC).

After doing some research and finding many other reports thought it would be worth submitting our experience.

Glad it only cost us $5 and three stamps... Lesson learned!

Don't fall for it and remember the old adage "If it's too good to be true..."
