Over the top, abusive collection tactics, they sent someone to deliver a demand notice

Drivetime has a pattern of abusive and aggressive collection tactics. If you are late by one day on your payment, the calls start and they do not stop. The collections people are rude and demand I drop what I'm doing and make an immediate payment. I have been paying on time and I've asked how my payments have been applied to my principal and they refuse to give that information. Everyone else has automated account system with current balances and payment history, but not Drivetime. All their website does is accept payments and tell you nothing if the payment is due or if you are even paying down your loan.

Today, a representative of Drivetime visited me at my home to deliver a personal letter demanding two payments and he made it a point to take pictures of the car to put fear in me that they would repossess the vehicle if I didn't pay in the next 24 hours.

These tactics are all designed to squeeze the most money out of people and to ensure their profits come before anything else.

I have never been given a certified letter, a FedEx, DHL or any other form of written communication.instead, they went straight into attempting to put fear in me with a veiled, unspoken threat that if I didn't keep them first in line when a payment is due, they will take your car away.

Isn't it that you're supposed to be behind 4 or 5 months in payments before they run off with your car instead of 2 weeks?

I totally regret buying a vehicle from them. Do not buy a car from Drivetime, because if you are late, even by a single day, you will be hunted down.
