Lied to just to get me in the showroom. Once there, suddenly the deal we had was no longer valid

I submitted an online request for a quote. An internet sales official responded to my online request. I emailed this individual back and forth for 7 hours before we finally came to an agreement. I am trading in two cars and purchasing two brand new cars. The agreement that we reached was very specific. Actual numbers were passed over email - every possible charge that we would incur was discussed over email. I sent one final email to the internet sales associate before we left our house and began our lengthy drive to the dealership that confirmed every single number so that we would have no surprises when we got there. My wife and I filled out the online credit application and the internet sales associate had assurred us that we were approved for credit and everything was fine.

We drove to the dealership and were greeted by the sales associate that we were dealing with over email. We picked out our two new cars. After being in the dealership for about 30 minutes we were approached by the sales manager. This individuals, apparently, was not familiar with our situation. He stated that there was some kind of mistake. He proceeded to tell us that his sales associate (the internet representative) made us too many promises. He offered us $500 less for each of our trade-ins ($1000 total). He stated that he never saw our credit and he had no idea what we would get approved for even though we filled out the online credit application. The 3rd surprise was the fact that the GAP insurance was not included in the package. This insurance is $691 for each car - so $1382 total. This was a key item that we discussed over email at length about. Our internet sales associate confirmed that he locked in our deal for each loan and both loans included the GAP insurance.

We were hoodwinked into driving two cars an hour each way just to get us in the showroom. They get you there, have you test drive the new cars, and then present you with a fabricated offer hoping that you'll bite because you have invested so much time in the deal.in our case - we were out and out lied to - and I have an chain of emails to prove it.
