Club Card rejected at gas pumps

Our membership card won't work on the gasoline pump. It's nwever worked. The clerk will enter my telephone #which worked until only this week. Today it's not going to take my telephone number. It stated it had been an unacceptable number. It was joined twice but still wouldn't take it. Our telephone number. Hasn't changed in 14yrs. Based on the attendants, they've been having difficulty using the pumps taking several membership cards.
So what can be achieved to treat this issue? I'd enjoy an answer. Thanks.
