"Differential Service" results in needing Differential in 24hrs

I took my Expedition to Sarasota Ford for an oil change the day before I was leaving for a cheerleading competition in Jacksonville. I was given an 21 point inspection which they informed me that I needed a new differential seal. I didn't want to break down so I asked for an estimate and finally agreed to the service. It was $334.

In a couple of hours I returned to pick up my vehicle and that's when the trouble started. I was informed that my TOTAL price was $447. I refused to pay this amount and presented my estimate along with $334. After alittle resistance from the service manager I was on my way. I thought it was over and all was well.

The next day as I'm entering Jacksonville, I notice that my vehicle feels like my back wheels are grinding whenever I turn. I call Sarasota Ford and tell them. As soon as I return from my trip, I take my SUV back, they claimed to have put in a friction modifier, but tell me I have to drive 1000 miles before it starts to work.
After 1000 miles my vehicle is even worse. I return to only be told that my warranty had expired and they would be more than happy to accept my vehicle as a trade in. WHAT!!! I lost it and almost went to jail.

I eventually did what I should have done from the start and had two different auto shops inspect it. They both came to the same conclusion... Sarasota Ford didn't put use the correct oil when doing the service. I was also informed that I was out of luck if I thought they would do anything to make it right... Besides getting me into more debt with a new vehicle.

However, I must admit Vern Buchanan Ford did say they would give me a deal. That made me laugh. I'll be sure to remember that when I'm at the polls voting for whoever is running against him. That's a business man who runs such an honest business.
