Refusing to settle personal injury claim for a satisfactory amount

July I was on my motorcycle stopped at a red light, when someone insured by Farmers Insurance rear ended me. Farmers totalled my bike, and paid me for that quickly. I didn't go to the hospital, but ended up going to a chiropractor twice, and the er once a couple weeks later. Now, they are offering me $1100 plus the medical bills to settle. I refused, and said I would settle for $5000 and pay the medical bills myself.

At this point, I was told that since I only went to the er once, and chiropractor twice, I was lucky to get $500 from them. This is unsatisfactory. I went to work injured, and only missed 1 or 2 days from work due to this accident. I should have gone to the chiroprator more, but I didn't like it. So now I am going to suffer because I didn't abuse the medical system. Ridiculous.
