Jiffy Lube ripoff ruined my vehicle Las Vegas

Bad oil change destroyed my 2002 sentra...

I change my oil regularly in all of my vehichles. When it came time to change my oil in the 2002 nissan sentra, I took it to Jiffy Lube.

This was the third time I had the oil changed since I purchased the car. It was brand new with no problems. The oil change was quick. The employees were nice and even showed me the old oil and the new oil level and cleaned my carpets. I was on my way.

About two weeks later, I was driving home from work, when I noticed my engine my smoking and smelled like it was on fire. I was only a few seconds from my driveway. I pulled in and could not find an obvious problem when I lifted the hood.

The next day I scheduled an appointment with the Nissan dealership. They looked over the car and ask what the last repair or maintenance on the vehicle was. I told them I got my oil changed.

When they looked at the oil dipstick and then the oil filter they said that there was no oil in my car. The oil filter and the drainbolt had not been tightened.

At the time I worked in another city and was about a 30-45 minute commute. The distance and miles driven along with the loose equipment caused to oil to drain out (but I was unaware).

I assumed the problem was something else. When the technician came back a few minutes later he said that my engined had seized and I would need to leave it to be repaired. This was not covered under my extended warranty (supposedly) due to the fact another shop caused the damages.

I could not afford to pay for the repairs. I contacted Jiffy Lube and told them the problem. The person I spoke with was present when my oil was being changed. He said because I didn't bring the car back to them immediately, they were not held liable for the damages.

A worthless warranty, an oil shop who does not discipline its employees who are negligent and a worthless brand new car.

I had no choice but to trade the vehicle in, which gave me two months worth of headaches over the new loan. I refuse to do business with Jiffy Lube ever again.
