Dependable Auto Movers Inc Deceptive, Rip Offs

I contracted with Dependable Auto Movers Inc, to transport a car from NJ to Florida. They told me the price would include insurance and that they would take care of everything. Well since they are brokers they had Active Auto Transport, LLC go to pick up the car. They kept the person who was waiting at the pick up site uninformed for two days with no information. We were told that no one even needed to be there for the car to be picked up by them. (remember this information)

When the driver finally communicated with the person at the pick up site, he informed the person that his truck was too large to drive to the home where the car was located? Huge moving vans go in and out of that neighborhood all the time? The person had to drive the car which did not have plates on it over a mile where the drive was waiting in a mall parking lot. This at 1AM in the morning! They went over the car and listed any damages, 1 scratch and 1 dent on the drivers side rear. That was noted on the invoice. They loaded uo the car and brought it to florida.

A neighbor was there to receive the car in Florida and pay the driver. She does not really know anything about cars and had two small children with her. When I examined the car later on that night when I got home I found a very large dent that was new, on the rear trunk area. I made sure that it was not on the car before shipping by calling and confirming with the sender who is a relative.

I informed Dependable Auto Movers Inc, who told me to contact Active Auto Transport, LLC which I did. It took them over a week to get back to me
Then they told me that on the invoice the driver checked two boxes that remove any blame from them, one: the vechicle was too dirty when picked up and it was at night so the driver couldn't see too good, the second box stated Too much damage to list. Both of these boxes were very small. Then I was told that at the back of the invoice on the bottom it says that the insurance is subject to a $1,000.00 deductable and that the claim has to be made with in 7 days of delivery, well him not getting back to me for over a week helped with that one.

The Active Auto Transport, LLC told me good luck they weren't going to pay for a $600. Damage and neither was their insurance company.

And the condition of my car? It had 34,000 original miles on it and was garage kept. The owner was an 85 year old lady who had the car serviced on a regular basis

What have I learned from this:
Dependable Auto Movers Inc uses movers who use deceptive documentation, and are lazy and will not back up any of their claims.

Active Auto Transport, LLC are thrives and thugs who will rip you off like they did to me. Do not use this company or you may find your self in the same boat
