Last winter I had my '83 GMC pickup serviced at Walmart. A few weeks later the oil light came on and off when my wife was driving it. I checked the oil and noticed it was very low. The next time my wife drove it the light came on right away and stayed on. She turned around to come back home and the truck died leaving her stranded on the side of the road.

After towing the truck home I got under it and noticed the oil filter was put on incorrectly and the oil had drained out. I removed the oil filter and noticed it was damaged. I took it to walmart and they gave me a new oil filter and some oil. No problem.

When I got the truck running again I could hear it knocking so I drove it to Walmart and asked them what they were going to do for me. Walmart had it towed to a local dealership that said the truck had blown a rod and needed to be replaced. The dealership gave Walmart's insurance company a quote for a new engine and a used engine. Walmart's insurance company said that I couldn't prove anything and they would not pay for anything.

My wife and I tried calling some lawyers, no one would fight Walmart. One lawyer told us it was a hopeless battle to fight Walmart they would fight us hard and we would lose all of our money in legal fees.

In the end we are out of a very dependable vehicle. We will never take our cars to Walmart again. This is the short story to a long fight, Walmart's insurance company is a joke and the people employed there are very hard to work with.
