Drop Your Payment Told us to "give" our current cars back to the banks who financed them so that we could get new cars

My husband saw a commercial on t.V. Advertising that Family Hyundai would take any car with negative equity and put you into a new car with lower payments. My husband called to get more info. And was told that this was a sure thing. I was very suspicious and decided to call myself. I called the dealership and spoke to a lady. I explained the situation with our cars and told her how much negative equity we had. I told her that we live a couple of hours away and would be very upset if we drove up there for no reason. She assured me that they would be able to do what they had promised and that she would not waste our time.

My husband and I drove to Tinley Park to find that it was all a ploy just to get us up there. ALSO - our salesman told us that he could put us in two brand new cars, if we would just "give" our current cars back to the bank. When my husband and I said that this was dishonest and steeling, the salesman said, "Here, hold on, I'll go get my general manager. He'll tell you the same thing. It is completely safe and you will no longer be responsible for your current cars." My husband and I were in complete shock, and were ready to leave, but the salesman had taken our keys so that we would not go anywhere. The salesman returned several minutes later and had told us that his general manager said to him, "Tony, I can't go out there and tell them that. I'm the general manager." The car salesman told us that they always tell people to "give" their cars back to the banks.in fact, they have their customers do this all the time!

We told the salesman that we were disgusted that he would suggest such a thing, and that if they couldn't get this done the right way, then we weren't going to do it at all. The salesman then offered to take my car as a trade-in but not my husbands truck. We decided that we did not want to do business with a deceptive company. We took our business to Gartner Buick in Naperville and are very happy about our choice.

AND - to add salt to the wound, after I had complained about coming all the way to Tinley Park under false pre-tenses, the salesman threw a $20 dollar bill in my face - How insulting!!
