Scam! Fraudulent company takes advantage of people!

This company is ridiculous. I saw a charge on my chase credit card for $89.99 from TLG*AUTOVNTGE, the name sounded familiar from my previous job (I worked in a debit card dispute department for Wells Fargo Bank), but I didnt remember what it was exactly, only that I knew I didnt make the charge.

I called Chase and they made comments like, "I see this happen often, customers accidently... Bla bla bla" ridiculous. I never made it. They transferred me to this company and before I could say anything they threw all my info. On the phone, address, name, etc.

Shocked I asked how did u get my information I did not sign up for this. They said that my lovely bank Chase sent me a check in the mail for $8.25 and that it clearly stated on their that if I cashed it I would be enrolled in a 30 day trial for a roadside assistance and if I didnt cancel after that I would be charged $89.99 for the year.

... I rememer seeing this check in the mail, I opened it to see what it was and when I realized what it was I ripped it and threw it away. Why? Because I worked in a department that dealt with these things all the time, Why would I get myself involved in a scam like that knowing how these people scam the world!?!?!?! So I ripped the check and this company is accusing me of cashing it!

I didnt have any problems getting it refunded but it just blows me away how companies like this can get away with these things. I never cashed the check, and they obviously got my info. From chase, makes me think they are working together in scamming the customers. I'm more outraged for all the people that have been taken advantage of, just search through all this companies disputes. Why in the world have they not been shut down!!?
