Fishertrans (AAMCO) Ruined My Transmission

Fishertrans, (AAMCO) ruined my automatic transmission and refused to honor warrantees.

I was refused service on my fourth attempt to have them fix problems resulting from their initial work on my transmission. The owner said: "there was nothing else they could do" and referred me to a local Jaguar dealership. I was told by Fishertrans, (AAMCO) the new problems were probably software or electronic matters and that they did not have proper diagnostics equipment for the task. (They never mentioned anything about their inability to properly diagnois the transmission before starting work on it; work that cost me $4400.00.)

Subsequently, Jaguar and another local transmission company determined there were no electronic, software or other external problems with the transmission. Fishertrans (AAMCO's) was the problem. The transmission's problems were caused by Fishertrans (AAMCO's) — poor workmanship, incorrect transmission fluid, and defective parts.

Fishertrans, (AAMCO) turned me away and never showed any further concern for the transmission until after I filed a dispute with VISA.

Jaguar listed the problems as internal transmission failure and recommended it be replaced. Another company replaced the transmission several months later.

Original problem:

1. Transmission intermittently failed to engage second gear when transmission was warm.
2. Sticky shifting lever.

Fishertrans (AAMCO) ACTIONS:

1. Fixed second gear shifting problem.
2. Caused constant transmission shuttering; when entering second gear cold. (never resolved)
3. Caused constant whining noises (noises disappeared after third service visit)
4. Caused abrupt bumping shifts in higher gears. (never resolved)
5. Failed to fix shifting lever (never resolved)

The service at Fishertrans (AAMCO) was terrible, to say the least. Actually, they caused more problems then they fixed. Their prices are high and they are not honorable. I believe AAMCO schooled them and therefore recommend everyone stay away from such places.
