It's official: The Michiana Public Auto Auction sells bad cars.

I went in there a few months ago and spoke with their people, who assured me that they were a good business and don't sell cars to people if they haven't been up front about them. The car I got is a lemon. It's days away from losing the transmission.

After giving me what sounded like a very well rehearsed speech ("we worked SO HARD to represent you"), the manager informed me that the only thing they will offer is to allow me to sell the car back into the auction.

Let me spell this flat out: They want me to auction them back a car I know, and they know, is broken.

How long has this car been in circulation? How many poor people have spent their entire savings on this car, or a car like this one, before they realized they've been shystered?

I can tell you that they told me they've sold this car, the one I bought, at least twice. They've had it in circulation for a year in a half.

There's no way I can give this car to someone else. They are asking me to be an accomplice to something unethical.

Let them know that this is no way to run a business and is harmful to the community.

I'll be out in front of it with a sign Next Tuesday at 5:30pm. They only open from 4-7 (bidding starts at 6) on Tuesdays, so I don't have to stay long to get the message across.

Call them and tell them THEY ARE CAUSING HARM.
