86 Chevy S-10 Threw Piston 50 miles after full tune up

In the last week of Feb the driver's side window of my 1986 Chevy S-10 came off the track. I imediately brought it to Meineke and had them fix the window. Also while it was there I had them perform a complete service on the Truck. They changed the oil, the oil filter, the coolant, and balanced and rotated the tires. I paid them and got the car back from a Christopher Lynn who did the maintainence. I drove the car maybe a total of five miles the rest of the week. On Mar 6th I was on my way down to NC to visit a college. I made it roughly 60 miles when the car started knocking and quickly blew a cylinder through the block. The car only had 80,000 miles on the engine and has never given me any type of problem before. I called Meineke and asked what type of oil was used and I was told Mobil 5W-30 synthetic. I consulted a few mechanics I know and they tell me that Synthetic oil in an old engine could have caused the problem. I hope this is the case.
