Deceived someone who trusts them, me, their customer!

Cars & Transport

Monday, October 8 I ordered a transmission for my 1997 GMC C/K 1500. My credit card was billed and I received confirmation of that order from "Sheila" at Phoenix Hard Parts that evening. She stated in the email that my transmission could not be rebuilt until I had signed the agreement and returned it to Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions (PRT) for confirmation. Tuesday, October 9 I returned the required paper work.

October 16 I emailed to find out the details of the shipping. "Sheila" responded on the 17th that the transmissions usually ship in 7 to 10 days and that "if [I] could email [her] next week [she] would follow up with the progress of my transmission and if it has shipped give [me] a tracking number give me a tracking number."

By October 25, I had received no information from "Sheila" or PRT, but did get a message from UPS that the transmission would be delivered the next day, October 26. I emailed "Sheila" to let her know. When I received the transmission, the torque converter was not included. I emailed "Sheila" that afternoon at 4:48 pm to let her know that the converter was not with the order and I followed up with a phone call and talked with "Andre." He said he would "ship one out to be delivered in three days."

By November 5,11 days had gone by and no torque converter. I emailed "Sheila" again to let her know I hadn't received anything. I received no response so I emailed her again on the sixth with my phone number and home and office email addresses with instructions to "reply to all." On the &th of November, I called and spoke again to Andre who said there was "a mistake on the part of the shipping department and he would ship a converter out 2nd Day Air." By the 12th, still no torque converter. My mechanic called and spoke with Alex and received a tracking number for the converter. On the 14th it was finally delivered.

Monday, December 3 the core and converter from my truck were shipped via UPS to PRT. I notified "Sheila" via email on December 2 that it would be shipped out that day. I also notified her that there was a leak in the front seal of the transmission. I received no response. On the 3rd of December I called to talk with "Gabriel" in "Technical." I could only leave a message as he was not available. I called again on the 5th because no one returned my call. I called again on the 10th, 12th, 14th, 19th, 20th, 24th and 26th and still have received no return call regarding either the core refund or the leaking seal and how I should proceed.

My truck is not driveable because of the transmission fluid spray from the leaking seal. It jeopardizes all the other seals and soft parts it is exposed to. I was hoping to give PRT a terrific rating, but, at this point, they have only disappointed me.
