Five Star Transmission
Perform service to keep warranty valid then say the warranty is voided

I had the transmission in my pickup overhauled by 5 star transmission. The transmission comes with a 5 year warranty as long as it is serviced every year. So i took my truck at the end of 1 year to have the service performed. When i picked up the truck i was told the warranty had been voided due to engine modification. I did install some insulation on the exterior of of the air intake system. This has absolutely zero impact on the mechanical function of the engine. It quites the sound inside the cab (diesel engines are very noisy.) Funny thing is, i took the truck in a month prior to this because i discovered it was overfull on transmission oil. The serviceman i talked accepted full responsibility for that condition and fixed the problem. The insulation i installed was in full view when this occured. Why didnt he say something then? It seems to me they are making up stories to avoid having to honor their warranty. They didn't fix the bolts that fell out of the transmission. They didn't replace the hose that is just dangling off the transmission. They didn't tell me the warranty was voided until after they completed the service. So whats the deal 5 star? If you don't want to do warranty work, don't offer a warranty. I would bet this transmission would probably never need to be worked on since i drive the truck maybe 1 time a week. You have lost any future service calls from me. I will be taking all my transmission money somewhere else. You have also given me more ammunition in my belief that auto service centers can not be trusted to do honest work.
