Classic bait-and-switch

I fell for a classic bait-and-switch routine, which they carried out without the least bit of hesitation or remorse. Here's the story: I called and asked about a 2007 bare-bones Accent. (The 2008s are now in.) I told "Jennifer" I had an offer of a $12000 new Yaris and asked if she could beat that. She called back saying she had two 2007s which they could move for much less (e.G. The one with AC was $10421) — year end closeouts, etc etc. I called back the next afternoon to say I was interested and would be there in the evening; I made sure the car was still there (because when I called other dealers just after speaking with Jennifer, they told me they could see no 2007s in any dealer's inventory). I was told the car was there and they were going to prep it for sale. So I and a neighbor drove out for what turned out to be a 3hour wild-goose chase. Supposedly the car I wanted had sold that morning (after a year on the lot? Unbeknownst to Jennifer after lunch? And the other 2007 also miraculously sold?) but they did have some fine 2008's for only $2000 more... What a crock. So two of us had been duped into wasting a whole evening on these jokers. Believe NOTHING they say; read the fine print, do your homework on the web, check with other dealers, have a mechanic look at the car, and buy if you must but do NOT extend them any trust at all...
