Ripoff, CHARGE FOR STORAGE OF CAR AFTER HE FIXED IT, UNTIL WE PICKED IT UP screwed others too ripped off and scammed MT. Vernon

On august 23 I had my sons car towed to porter automotive to have the alternator fixed. I told him that it would be a few days before we could get it because we were moving. He (Jeremy porter) said that would be ok. He called my house a few times and I told him that MY son had just returned from mexico (he was a summer missionary there) AND would have to get a paycheck before we could get the car.

Jeremy said that would be ok. So on 9/11/02 my son picked up his paycheck and went to get his car. JEREMY HAD TOLD ME THAT IT would be around $105.00 to get all the work done, labor and parts included. I asked him to get a rebuilt alternator and he said ok.

When my son went in to pick up the car Jeremy told him that it would be 145.00 PLUSSS 105.00 for a storage fee for the car because we did not pick up the car the day it was ready. My son works in fast food and is still in high school and does not make that kind of money, so he did not have that much to pay all of those fees to get his car.

I sent my mom with my son because I had to work, and I figured that he would try something like this and he did. Jeremy cussed at my Mother, because she told him that he was trying to pull a fast one on my son. He cussed her and my 2 children (17 AND14) and told them not to come back. My mom had to threaten to call the police on him to get him to take my sons 145.00 and to give him the car. He was going to let my son pay the 145.00 and come back and pick up the car when he had more money to pay storage. My sons next payday is 9/25 and the storage charges would still pile up. We finally paid the 145.00 and brought the car home. Don't TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS GUY!!! He will over charge you and then not let you have your car.
