Another unhappy drivetime customer - drivetime needs to be put out of business!

We purchased a car from the Plano, Texas location last year. We first dealt with the dreaded week after you have the car it already needs work. Amazingly in the entire DALLAS/FORT WORTH METRO area they had at the time 1 location for their supposed "Warranty" work. We were without the vehicle for the next week as they said they were that backed up which should have said something about the vehicles they sell. Not only were the people in this location rude, but it was in a very unsafe area and I had to drive over an hour to get there. DT in Plano did not offer to take it there for us.

Then in January suddenly we have no engine. The car was running fine. Stopped at Seven Eleven for a coke, not even for 5 minutes, jump back in and the engine makes this loud crashing sound and no longer ran.

Oh sure DT was gracious enough to defer 2 payments but that did not help on an almost $1000.00 repair.

In dealing with customer service, they are rude, nobody can ever seem to tell you anything and when you ask for a pay off you get the run around. They get mad if you say you are trading the car in somewhere and they even refuse to give other dealerships a pay off. This to us is very poor customer practices.

And in dealing with collections, the minute your payment is late you receive call after call after call. Even if you are only 1 day late they begin making comments such as "what are you, cheapskate." I have even been called a "dead beat." And that was only being late 2 days one time. The latest we have ever been is right at 2 weeks and when you go that long not only is corporate calling but you suddenly have the lot calling you and both are very rude.

We have VOLUNTARILY SURRENDERED the car VIA CERTIFIED MAIL to their Plano location and to make sure they actually received the key to the vehicle we CERT MAILED it as well. It will be up to them to come get the car.

We have financed a completely different car with a GREAT car lot in Garland, Texas that a friend of mine owns.

As far as we are concerned Drive Time should be shut down as many of their practices are illegal and very poor.

I am game for a class action law suit for the THEIVING of customers money through hidden charges and uncalled for interest rates and the over pricing of vehicles (by over 100%).
