The Oil Change that cost me $1500.00! Simonson Foeign Car Service put a $800.00 part into my car without my authorization. Now they're holding my car HOSTAGE!

On July 26, I took my car to Simonson foreign car service for an oil change and to have my dashboard lights inspected. I've been driving for over 1 year with these lights on, it wasn't a major issue, but since I was there for servicing, I wanted the lights to be looked at. I told the owner Hans if the light problem wasn't going to be expensive to fix, then I would proceed. Hans inspected the car and later told me the parts involved cost $170.00 and $18.00 plus labor. If these parts didn't fix the problem, it would probably be the computer board which was more expensive. I told him that the lights weren't a major problem and I didn't want to pay the expense. I expected the total to be $170.00 and $18.00 for parts plus labor and oil change that I agreed to pay.

Today, July 27, I inquired w / Hans 3 times re: the status of my car. Hans said he was still working on the car. Hans never today told me that he used the expensive computer part nor disclose the total bill. Later, I went to check on my car and was given a bill of $1500.00. I was shocked! Again, I never authorized him to put the computer part (the expensive part) in my car. The only service I wanted was an oil change and to fix the lights. I told him I didn't want the part in my car and to take it out. I should only pay for the parts $170.00 and $18.00 plus oil change and labor. Now he's charging for the expensive part plus extra labor costs that I didn't authorize. This is deceitful and unlawful to not disclose the total costs prior to installing a part. He said none of his customers have complained when he's put parts in before. He told me I could get my car back only if I pay the $1500.00. I was infuriated. I didn't have the $1500 to get my car released and I had to cancel my business trip to Tampa. I went to the Police Dept in Hollywood to file a report that Hans took hostage of my car. The Police Dept advised me I had to file a complaint.
