I originally got my car loan thru CapitalOne & within 6 months, Wells Fargo bought the contract. I set up automatic withdrawal from my checking acct for the payments. Apparently there was some type of reorganization within Wells Fargo in March - when all the account numbers changed, & all automatic payments had to be set up all over again. Everyone was supposed to have received a letter to this effect (I did not-I very carefully read ALL mail from my creditors for just this type of situation) - my first inkling that there was a problem was when I received a call from Collections on the 27th of March asking when I was going to make my car payment (which is due on the 25th). I made that month's car payment over the phone & they agreed to send the papers to me in the mail to set up the automatic withdrawal from checking.

The March car payment ($300) was withdrawn from checking on about April 2 - on April 5 or 6, a SECOND car payment was 'automatically' withdrawn from my account! There was a code that showed up each month on the automatic withdrawal that was on this second car payment - however, the usual date for the payment was around the 27th or 28th of the month, not the 5th or 6th of the following month! So, after talking to NUMEROUS people & giving EACH of them my name, address, phone #, acct # - & trying to remain reasonable, 'cause I realize there are glitches with every change - they agreed to send me a check in the mail - which would take about 5 or 6 days to reach me - they were unable to credit my account the extra $300.in the meantime, during the 5 or 6 days, the shortfall of $300 in my account, cause 5 items to be overdrawn in my account, at $20 each=$100!!!

When I called Wells Fargo to advise them of this, while waiting for the check, I was met with varying reactions, some sympathetic, some not so...& at last reached a supervisor who asked me to fax a copy of my checking acct statement to show that the $300 they took out of my account caused the 5 items to be overdrawn - so I did - however, for some reason, they never received my fax, even tho' my fax showed it went thru.By the time I got their refusal letter, I just decided to chalk it up to experience & get on with life - they'd promised they would investigate & take care of the matter.

Surprise! The SAME thing happened in May! After wading thru a number of people again - receiving varying degrees of reactions - some trying to help, some rude - I reached a supervisor-not the same one (he wasn't available) & informed him I needed the money overnighted to me & I needed them to fix the problem. They overnighted the money & I was assured it would be fixed.

NOT! Same thing in June... I was making my car payments online now - I hadn't signed up for auto deduction-before I made the June payment, I called Customer Service to comfirm the situation had been rectified & was assured that it had been... Unfortunately, I made my car payment & they took a 2nd one out AGAIN! They overnighted it back to me when I waded thru a few people & I spoke to a young lady who believes she found the problem & has it fixed now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Some of their people were very good to work with, but some of them made me feel like scum for being so upset about that extra $300 a month - and when I talked about the overdraft charges - yikes! You'd think I was a criminal not to have an extra thousand or two in my account for such emergencies! When I'm thru dealing with this company, I wish NEVER to deal with them again - for anything!!! I don't know if they're too large or just don't care - whichever it is, I'm thinking they don't get too much return business! They certainly won't get mine!
