$99 teaser ad, huge mark-up on parts, slick salesmen w/out a tie

I went in for the $99 brake job, because I'd checked the pads and shoes recently, and they were thin, but working fine. The estimate at the walk-around was around $650 for caliper hardware, which they had dismantled, rotors were supposedly too thin to machine, rear wheel cylinders were stuck, weak shoe return springs. New seals were $26 for the front bearings, which are routinely removed (under $3ea. @ discount auto 1/2 block away).
The invoice later showed I declined these, possibly during the sticker shock. I didn't mind getting the 2 wheel cylinders, as they had it all apart, but they were billed as $104 in parts, which discount auto also had at under $12 ea.
I checked these prices while killing time during the repairs (?). I settled for $309 job for pads, shoes, & wheel cylinders, and fluid replacement Any reasonable mechanic would have stuck new seals in (recommended), and the parts markup was astronomical, considering I KNEW they got the parts next door.
