Rip off, dishonest ripoff

I went in to this company to look for a vehicle. I found one I liked and wanted to test drive it. I should have suspected something when it did not even have a battery. They took one from another auto and said I could test drive it in the parking lot.

I had already paid them $995.00 which was not the purchase price but the girl that works there lowered the price to the exact amount I had in cash. They will not accept checks. After I test drove it I told them I did not want the car and wanted my money back because it had to many things wrong with it. They would not refund my money.

The car did not have a working transmission and there were no brakes. The automatic windows did not work nor did the air conditioning. I could not even get the car off the lot. I had to have my son purchae a battery to even get it moved. I asked numerous times for a refund and they said no. I then asked for the owner to return a call to me and when he did he said he bids on the cars and they are on a "purchase as is basis".

I tried to be very polite to the owner and asked him if he was happy with the way he conducted business and his reply to me was yes I am as a matter of fact its my birthday.

I was then informed that I had to get the car off there lot and at that time I had to hire a tow truck to have it moved. I understand as is but there has to be some guide lines these companies have to follow when the vehicle cannot even be driven. This is extremely poor business practice.
