Buyers beware of fraudulent lemon selling dealer - sds auto ripoff

I am writing to report a scam that I have experienced dealing with Stanley Stanek the owner of SDS Auto Sales. On March 17, I went to SDS auto referred by a friend to look for a vehicle. Stan's son, showed us two Durangos, a 2000 and 2002. He asked how much we were looking to put down. I told him I wanted to spend around $6000-7000 with payments no more than $250.00 per month. He asked how much I wanted to put down, I stated $2500. The son stated the 2000 was selling for $6995, so this is the SUV we looked at. We took it for a test drive.

We returned to the office and filled out an application. Stan, asked for a $500 cash deposit and when told I don't carry that type of money on me, but I could write a check, he told me to give him a $200 deposit instead and bring the remaining $2300 for the rest of the down payment when I pick up the SUV. I wrote him a $200 check for the first part of the down payment.

Monday, March 19th, that evening, Stan called me to tell me the papwork was ready and come pick up the Durango. I went, picked up the SUV days later, we started hearing rattling and knocking noises under the hood of the Durango. I was returning from work, and it was getting louder... We called the warranty company, Penn warranty to find out the process for the warranty that he signed me up for without explaining any of the terms.

We took it to Sears, they looked at it and told me NOT TO DRIVE THAT DURANGO! Two guys looked at it from Sears and said that it has SERIOUS ENGINE TROUBLE, and it would not be a good idea to drive it too far. I then called Stan to see what he was going to do about this LEMON he and his son sold me. He told me to bring it over and he would take a look at it.

When we arrived at the lot, we turned on the vehicle so he could hear the loud rattling and knocking noises... He stated that I purchased a warranty and it should cover it and that I need to call them. Then he called the police on me and said he wanted me off his lot!!! Imagine that, the nerve of this unethical, manipulative CRIMINAL! He and his RUDE son sell me this LEMON and then call the police on me when I did nothing! ON top of him selling me a lemon he only applied $1500 of the $2500 down payment that I gave him!!!

DO NOT even bother going to this lot and dealing with these people you will REGRET it! May GOD bless his unfortunate lost soul! Taking advantate of people and stealing from them!
