Buyer beware ripoff

My husband and I bought a car for Prestige Auto in 2004. We traded the car in and cancelled the extended care policy. I called to verify they received the cancellation letter and to verify they had sent the cancellation to the extended car company. I was given the run around about when, what, and why. The extended care company sent Prestige the refund. We did not owe anything to Prestige and they were not the finance company for the car.
I waited and called almost a month later to see if the check had been sent out. Wendy started to say it takes a couple of weeks for the people to respond. I told her I all ready spoke with her and she said the check was mailed out to us on a certain day to my old address. An address we have not lived at in almost two years.
It is again almost a month later and now she is saying we haven't received the check back, it hasn't been cashed and to wait a little longer to see if the check resurfaces. I've asked to speak to the owner and use get excuses such as they wont be in until three and four days later or they are out of the country. They never return your calls and instead of just reissuing a check to the customer they say my manager said to just wait to see if it comes up.
Never deal with this company. Prestige auto does not tell you if you have a current warranty on your car. They tell you, you may want to get an extended warranty with a company that will authorize repairs then turn around and say they are not going to cover the repair. You have to make the payment yourself for the repair and wait to be reimbursed.instead of sending any refunds owed to the lien-holders or finance company, the extended car company sends the money to Prestige auto who in return tries to keep your money and not think the customer will take them to court.
Never never any military out there deal with prestige auto in portsmouth virginia. Ever.
