Geico Ins - Guaranty Collection ripoff is having collection co. Charge me for their attorny fees when i was the victim

I was hit while at a red light in 1999, the person who hit me was insured by geico, we ended up going to court in we ended up losing our case because it was a low speed injury accident which was difficult to prove.
That was devastating enough, we picked up the pieces and went on with our lives.

Now 5 years later they come sending a collection co. To collect $ 4809.41 for their attorney fees!

They never contacted us themselves and also charged us $1667.97 in interest charges.

What kind of company is this to be so underhanded and nasty. I wanted to know if this has ever happened to anyone else and is it legal?
