Pete's Auto Repair totally ripped me off. I started taking my car there in May because I needed a new engine. ($3000) They put one in and gave me a 3 month warranty. The following month, my alternator went out on me, so I returned to Pete's. ($100 - provided my own parts.) No big deal.
Then in July, my car began shaking and just didn't feel right. So, I took it in, figuring I better do this while my warranty is still in effect. After dropping it off Friday night, they called me on Monday to tell me that my fuel injectors were bad and it would cost me another $330.00. They "fix" it and I get it back.
When I got it back, they had put over 100 miles on my car and taken my gas gauge from 3/4 down to 1/8 of a tank. There were signs of people sitting in my back seat (in the middle). Apparently, they used my car for personal stuff over the weekend! When I called to ask about it, they simply denied it, even though the proof was all there. They blamed the gas and mileage on "road-testing". That's an awful lot of road testing.
Unfortunately, my car has died once again and is back at Pete's. I can only imagine what story they will come up with next as to what's wrong this time. I decided to look them up on Better Business Bureau and found that they have an "F" rating. Wish I'd looked there sooner!!!
If I can stop just one person from being ripped off by this mechanic, I will at least feel a bit better. Beware. Steer clear of Pete's!!!
