Asically, i went to the midas in framingham on friday for an oil change - simple, right? Oh no, not with these mental midgets. I tell the guy that i need the oil change and that i need the car back by 1pm, because i am leaving for new york. He says that is fine, and (seemingly) he politely asks me if anything else needs to be looked at. So i told him to take a look at the brakes because they had been squeaking quite a bit. I gave him my cell phone number and i told him to call me as soon as they had finished.
So, its 12:45pm and i haven't heard from them. I work right up the street, so i called the guy and asked him if everything is all set. He tells me that they did a brake inspection, and that i need $700 worth of repairs done to the brakes, basically putting all new stuff in. To say i was shocked would be the understatement of the century, but i took a big gulp, and simply asked if he had at least done the oil change. He tells me that they haven't done the oil change yet, so i freaked out on him, and told him to leave th car alone, and that i would be down in a minute.
Its now 1pm, so the oil change is long overdue, and its not getting done... Sweeeet! I told the guy that i was not happy they did not do the oil change, that is unacceptable.
Here's the punchline, folks. I took the car to a well-respected mechanic today for an inspection of this "faulty" brake system. He tells me that the car is fine, and that i don't need anything done to it. He said that he would have trouble sleeping at night if he sold me new brakes.
How bout that? Needless to say, i called the framingham midas and the fool answering the phone was no help, and when i told him that he and his mechanics were a bunch of scumbag punks, he told me not to be rude. At that point, things got a little nasty.
Bottom line: do not go to midas... Ever!
