Bill rip off, liars, bad management

Let me preface by saying that I had brought 2 previous cars to Midas in the past few years, BEFORE they closed down. I had dealt with a wonderful service manager whose name escapes me, but his assistant's name was Scott. Both were great. I then dealt with Ron Bessar and he was great. At some point, all Midas locations closed down. The next time i brought my car to them, i met Bill, a liar.
Since December, i have given almost $1000 to Midas. Between rear brakes and a new catback system (as Bill called it), i have parted with more money than i probably should have.
Which brings me to today. I heard a metal on metal sound last night when i was leaving for a dinner date. I decided to stay home because i was concerned about driving with that noise. Mind you, i had driven home from work and didn't hear the sound. I went out 90 minutes later and there was the sound.
Got up today and drove to Midas because i thought it was the brake pads and they are under warranty. Now i hear no noise. Halfway there, i hear the noise but only for a few seconds. Bring it to Midas. The tech puts it on the lift and takes a flashlight to it. Removes nothing. Takes it for a drive. Says nothing is wrong, everything looks good. I asked, "Are u sure?". He takes it for a longer ride. Comes back, car on lift, again takes flashlight to it. Removes nothing. Comes in, says he heard the noise, says i need front hot bearing assemblies. Then Bill gets on the phone to get a price. He calls me over "$696" he says. I say no thank u. He says "if your wheels fall off, don't blame us".
I took my car to a place where the guys from work take their cars. Tech takes my car for a ride, hears nothing. TAKES OFF THE WHEEL - inspects it, sees nothing. Takes it for another ride, hears nothing. Total cost $0.
I haven't heard the noise since.
And these liars wanted $700 from me. I learned my lesson. Don't ever ever bring your car to midas!
