Northeast Motors - Philip Greenstein - Doug Jacobs
Ripoff used car scammer and curb stoning, selling outside the dealership location

Cars & Transport

I bought a car on E-Bay from the employee of Northeast Motors, Doug Jacob. Car was represented as a functional car.

I flew to Boston the day before the 2006 snow storm to pick it up.

I had to take delivery of the car since I could not get an airline reservation or rent a car to drive out.

Here is a list of the issues I found.

1. Battery was dead and required replacement cost me $100 and $24 for the tools to change it.

2. Alternator belt was worn and loose, cause was a failed water pump, cost me $646.45 to have it repaired in Bloomfield, NJ.

3. Tie rod end on passenger side was worn so bad the tire could be moved 1 inch sideways.

4. Engine had a dead miss, required plugs see above.

5. Brake light had wires cut and was not functional. I rewired to correct.

6. Driver seat belt was broken and fails to lock, still not fixed.

7. Heater blower was not functional and I repaired the wiring.

8. The interior mirror was on the floor, still not fixed.

9. Spare tire was missing,

10. Tool kit was missing.

11. Hood hold open damper was failed.

12. Exhaust had a hole over 3 inches in diameter with rusted edges showing it had been that way for over a long time.

13. The drivers door lock is failed.

14. The right rear tire loses air.

15. There was no jack or tire tools in the car.

16. The glove box lock is failed.

17. The car was bought at an auction by you, and you left it in the auction site since it was not a running car. Quincy Auto Auction (617) 773-5000

18. The fuel pump failed in Des Mondes, IA, cost me $520.70 to have it corrected, and $80 to have it towed.

19. It also cost me two night is motels while waiting to get the car running.

20. Speedometer is not functional so any mileage statements are void, it is not a good deal to sell as a 140k with no meter.

So, if you are in the market for a high quality pre-owned car, give us a try! You'll find the customer comes first at North East Motors!

I will be filing a small claims complaint, he has a 30 day notice already.

I will be e-mailing all the persons in his town that I can get an e-mail address for.

He is still complaining that he did nothing wrong.

I would suggest only dealing at an arms length and then counting your fingers.

Is this a real deal Massachusetts scammer?

I did try to make contact with the owner but I was not able to locate him.
