Extreme Dodge Hyundai
Extreme dodge chrysler hyundai ripoff estimates repairs low and then triples charges, doesn't do all work

Cars & Transport

We have purchased 2 cars and a motorcycle from this dealership. Our 2000 Intrepid broke the timing chain at 72000 miles and it was taken in and repaired at a cost of nearly $800.20000 miles later the timing chain broke again and Extreme refused to take any resposibility for the work.

We recently took our 2001 Hyundai in because it would not start. We were told it was the timing belt and the cost would be around $600. The next day we were told the head would need to be machined to reseat the valves and that would be an additional $1100.2 days later we were called and told the head could not be machined and we needed to buy a new head and valves so the total would now be nearly $2500.

We picked up the car and it was noisy. The mechanic said the flex hose had a crack in it and would need to be replaced. We figured no big deal, it wasn't noisy before we took it in but how much could a piece of flex pipe cost? The car stopped running 6 weeks after we picked it up. My husband and I drove it over the Christmas Holiday and noticed it was getting only about 15mpg when it should be getting at least 20mpg.

We took the car into the dealership today and they now tell us the flex pipe also holds the o2 sensor and that the plugs or coils are fouled and the total bill will be $700.

We know that the car was not making any noises when it went in to the dealer and that the flex pipe was most likely cracked when they replaced the manifold that was a recall part. I am just curious how many people this dealership has ripped off.

I do not think it is good business to do a $2500 engine job and not check the plugs or coils and crack the flex pipe and then expect the consumer to pay for your mistakes.
