I was lured into Tims Auto by the Red Tag sale which states "The price on our tag is the price you pay. Not a penny more." After strolling the lot and considering many of the red tag prices I chose a brand new GMC Yukon with a Red Tag price of approx. $32,000. After test drive, I began the daunting task of "4 Square" and making the financial deal. Amazingly after offering a ridiculous price of $2500 for my trade, the total price was now around $35,5000. Of course now I'm questioning their math skills because I had figured the price to be under $30,000. My salesman, who was new, found himself in a tough spot as he was now unable to explain how the red tag price could not be honored.

The sales manager Manny gave it a try by suggesting that the vehicle had many extras that made the ADVERTISED price impossible to honor. Then why not ad the extras in the red tag price I asked, after all "The price on our tag is the price you pay. Not a penny more" should mean exactly that. Needless to say I was offered no good explaination and have taken the time to offer a heads up to all Tims Auto shoppers — whatch out — Tims seems able to adverise whatever sounds good and then make up excuses why they cannot honor their ads - sounds like complete false advertising to me and I intend to spread the word regarding Tims unethical sales practices.
