Manipulate to put down payment by giving wrong quote but won't refund full amount Ripoff

People who work for Safe Auto are liars. They lure unsuspecting victins with a lower quote but turned around and charge them higher monthly bill and threat of unjustified Notice of Cancellation.
I called 1-800-Safe-Auto on 05/11/05 to get a quote for my new car. I was in need of a full coverage. After giving the information needed, including disclosing that I had been in prior a no-fault accident, I was given the quote of $139/month.
Since this is the cheapest quote I have gotten, I went ahead and signed up for the policy. I was asked to make a downpayment of $170 over the phone. I obliged and was told that my next payment will be due on 06/10/05 in the amount of $139. My payment of $170 went thru on 05/14/05.
On 05/20/05 I received a Notice of Cancellation from Safe Auto stating that my policyy will be cancelled if I did not pay $275 by 05/30/05.
I was mad and I called Safe Auto right away. I got a very incompetent operator that gave me bullshit answers. He said that I need to pay that $275 and my policy is actually $201/month. I told him that I was given the quote of $139 and that's why I went with Safe Auto in the first place. He said that it went up because I had a prior at-fault accident on 05/01/05. I told him that I did not have such accident and the only accident I got was a no-fault accident a year ago. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was put on hold for over 15 minutes, so I just hang up.
I called back later that day and spoke to another operator. I told her the same thing. She said that I need to send the police report to show that was a no-fault accident for my rate to go back down to $139/month. I told her that I was not given this information when I first signed up. Had I was told to fax the police report, I would have. After getting the fax number I asked her if the Notice of Cancellation is now void. She replied that I still need to pay the $275 by 05/30/05. This got me even more mad as they almost got my business again, but they blew it by insisting I pay the $275, which I don't believe I need to.
I asked to speak to a supervisor because I want to cancel the policy altogether. She said she can refund me for the amount of $100. I asked what happen to the rest of the amount: $70? She said the rest is for the processing fee. I said I want the full $170 amount because the reason I agreed to pay $170 in the first place is because of the $139/month quote. If I was given the quote of $201/month quote I would not have signed up and agreed to shell out $170 in the first place.
She kept fighting me on the issue and will only refund $100. I got frustrated with Safe Autyo and agreed to the $100 refund as I do not want to deal with the liars anymore. Today is 05/21/05, and we shall see if my $100 will even be refunded.
Consumers should be aware of the lies that is the practise of Safe Auto lure victims and cheat them off their hard-earned money.
