Ripoff

My sister went to Smart Cars to purchase a car and was excited about doing it too. The sales rep asked did she have any money to put down on the car. She replied, "Yes". He requested that she give him the deposit which was $800.00. He gave her a receipt and everything. So she thought it was legit and everything.

She called me because she had been there all day and was wondering what was going on. I decided to drive down that and see what was going on. I ended up talking to her about going to another automobile agency because I felt like they were trying to rip her off. I told her to tell them let her think about it over night.

She asked the guy can she have her money back because she changed her mind about getting the car. He told her to go home think about it over night and if she decides she doesn't want it. He will be glad to give her the money back. Well everything blew over when their sales rep followed us to another car dealers lot. They yelled out the window that how can we do them like that.

I look at my sister and said I can't believe they followed us. So we went back to the dealer to get her money back again because after she saw another car on the other lot. She made her decision. They claimed that the Car Lot Manager was gone and they could not give us her money back. So we went back up to the dealer lot and told him the situation.

We, then, decided to call the other lot where they have cars in Lexington and got in the so called manager. He had a funky attitude about the whole situation but told my sister to come in the morning and he would have the check ready. Well the next morning came and they ran all kind of games trying to make her buy the car.

She refused and he claimed that she was getting to loud with him and he would ban her off his property. She did get upset than because he was trying to keep her money. I than got on the phone to call the Sheriff department about what was going on. As I was talking on the phone, he was pushing and shoving me to get out of the door. I could not believe what was going on.

I waited for the police to put a report against the manager because he had no reason to touch me but to make a long story short. He banned me and my sister off the premises. She did not get a car nor her money back. She have since filed a civil suit against them at the magistrate office. Smart Cars attorney did respond by saying that my sister took the car overnight and wanted a jury trial.

These people are truly a ripoff and must be watched. I would recommend my enemy to these people. We are trying to find other people who have had problems with this company because we know we are not the first. So if you know anyone, please let it be known because they need to be stopped.
