Cars & Transport

In 1999, I went to Casey Imports on Jefferson Ave in Newport News to buy a car. I bought a used 96 Saturn SC1. I paid cash for the car, no financing necessary. After two months my car overheated one day and left me stranded in the middle of no where. I had it towed to a gas station in Williamsburg where they charged me $65.00 to put on a new water pump. As I drove my car up 199, it over heated. I called the gas station back, they told me that they could not fix it.

So I had it towed to Casey. They had it for three week when I called about it they said I had no appointment so I had to wait for them to get around to it. After the fourth week they towed it to Saturn of Newport News (of which they charged me towing fees). After 3 days Saturn told me that my engine was blown because of a cracked head. All my antifreeze and oil had mixed and they would have to replace the engine. They also said it would be a $2000 job.

They called Casey and were told I paid for the car outright, I own it. There are no lemon laws on used cars in Virginia. Saturn told me that if they had done, even an oil change before putting it on the lot, they would've known it had massive mechanical problems. Thankfully Saturn replaced my engine and then my defroster for free.

Four years ago, I met my husband who told me this story of how he went to buy a car when he was 16 from Casey Imports (at this time, they were on J Clyde Morris Blvd). Two months after he got it, his engine blew. The funny thing was I had never mentioned my problems with the same dealer to him.

They are rip off artist and should be shut down. Anyone who goes there please remember - BUYER BEWARE!!!
