Ripoff

On labor day of this year, we went to louisville and decided to look at a new car. We were honest and told them that our credit wasn't exactly sterling (this was our first mistake). I was the one needing the car so ofcourse, they targeted me... insisting that i drive the car first, making sure i was the one involved in the conversation, etc. Finally, they offered us a deal... Or so we thought... At 9.98%. We knew that was steep but what could we expect and happily, I drove my new car (SUV) home.

The very next day, i and my husband both received phone calls say that there were a couple of more papers we had to sign and that we had to come together to do so. Therefore, it had to wait until saturday. We get there and they tell us that our credit reports were so bad that only my husbands name could be on the loan and that the car had to be in his name since the law in louisville states that only one name can be on the title. This was my car. Not only that... The interest was raised to 12.75%. We were caught. The salesman had made it a point to tell us on labor day that once a car is driven off the lot... It's used (big red flag and i didn't run with it).

This made no sense since i make twice the money and our credit reports have the same thing on it. So we went to our credit union. They ran credit checks and guess what... Mine is better... Not by much... But better. So we applied for a loan though them. Not only am i the primary loan holder, but our interest rate is 7%. Unfortunately, i cannot get my name on the title until the thing is paid for. My car... I'm making the payments... But it's not my car. Kia really screwed us royally. I will never, ever buy a kia again. I also tell everyone my story and i hold nothing back.
