Stole $9,800 from me Ripoff

Leased a 2002 VW Passat from them in November had a trade that they gave me $9,800 trade allowance on.

Told our salesman that I drove over 500 miles each week for work, that we couldn't do a lease because of the mileage. Was told by their sales staff several times not to worry because "At anytime during the lease you want to trade your vehicle for another VW, just come back and it's a matter of paperwork" There would be "NO MILEAGE PENALTY".

May with 70,000 miles on the car we brought it back to "Trade" They wanted nothing to do with the car! Said the mileage was way too high and that if I wanted to trade towards another car I would need at least $7,000 to put down, to get out of the lease and into a purchase! They said the payoff on my car was $19,000?? After 2 years of payments of $300 a month? I only paid $22,800 for the car to begin with? What happened to my $9,800???

Then the General Manager, What a Schmuk, said he could help! My husband and I took 4 hours off of work to talk to this jerk. You know what he offered??? A lesser model than we had (no leather, no sunroof, NOTHING!) for $200 more a month ALONG with $1500 down on another LEASE!!! What a dummy! What part of we WILL NOT do another lease again doesn't this guy get?

Sadly the only way out of the Passat was to do a voluntary Repo. VW credit said the car was only worth $10,000 but I still owed $19,000. If I did an early lease termination, I would still be responsible for the remainder of the amount owed along with the mileage penalty!

Bad bad deal with Lithia. Uncaring crooks is all I veiw them to be.

I would never give them a penny of my money. No one should
