Warranty A Rip-off

In late Novemeber my fiance purchsed the mother of all coffee makers from our local starbucks. The price, if you can believe it was a wopping 895.95. Before the end of December we had to return it because it leaked water all over the kitchen, and did not brew coffee. They replaced it, no paperwork whatsoever was asked for or anything, they remembered us and just swapped it out. This replacement machine lasted until mid- January. This time when we returned it, they stated they had put it on sale, and that they "required the origional reciept to verify the price paid". My fiance surrendered her origional reciept, and was given a new reciept that showed one of these machines being returned for 895.95, and one being purchsed for 895.95, an even swap.

Last week, in October the THIRD machine in less than year took it's dump. Just quit working one morning.
When she returned it this time the story was that "coorperate" had to deal with it. She called, and was told they "would pick it up and make it right".
She told them that she isn't interested in thier crap machine, after all, three in less than a year is ridiculas to say the least. She was told that was ok, they would issue a refund. The next day, a UPS driver showed up and took the machine.

Now they refuse to refund the price paid for the machine. They insist they can only refund the "sale" price of 549.95.

We told them to return the machine immediately, they balked at that demand, however, when confronted with the possibility of us filing a criminal complaint with our local sheriff, they say they will "try to find it' and return it.

We plan to set up a card-table outside the local starbucks (on really nearby public property) with a silent portable power supply and simpley inform anyone who will listen what Starbucks has done.

I urge anyone reading this to quit Starbucks and support your locally owned coffee shop.
